Perseverance in NZ Chapter - Bro Ed P.

03/11/2009 08:36

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to endure.  And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.  And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.  Romans 5:3-5 NLT

There was a profound sense of anticipation in my heart leading to my trip in New Zealand.  I thank the Lord for using me as His mouthpiece in the Life and Spirit Seminar.  As the anticipation reaches its crescendo on Friday, 2nd October 2009, a breeze of cold and pure air welcomes me in the Land of Long White Cloud and the warmth smiles of Sis Josie, Sis Dina and Bro. Rey as I emerged from the arrival section of Napier airport.

An audience of about 35 responded to the invitation and the seminar on Saturday was another victorious one for the Lord and it was followed by a Bible sharing on that night.  The next day, Sis. Josie drove us to a farm outside Napier for an outreach.  With the blessings of rain pouring down from heaven, she drive through a narrow and winding road with a backdrop of God's awesome scenery of the place.  The afternoon was filled with a spirit of jubilation and joy as God's Word infused into the hearts and minds of prayer partners.  Several emotional testimonies been heared and a feeling of deep compassion circumvent among the prayer partners.  I know that God's healing and deliverance manifested on that day.

What fascinates me is the perseverance of some of the prayer partners, that in spite of the absence of the preacher, they persevere and worship the Lord through the preaching tape of Bro. Mike.  Through all the seasons, they remain faithful and focus on their faith and that reveals a genuine commitment to Yahweh El Shaddai.  Some of the prayers partners in this chapter has the heart of Nehemiah - that they are trying and determine to rebuild the walls of NZ Chapter.  They did not give up or lose heart but continue even though that sometimes it's only 3 of them in the prayer meeting.  They stand on what God has called them for, in spite of the the trials, tribulations and persecution they face on their journey, they focus themselves to the Lord.

Lord, we thank you for your amazing and wonderful grace and mercy you have bestowed upon us.  Strengthen us O Lord with fortitude in our time of trials and persecutions we face in our daily life as we continue our journey with you through eternity.  Keep us away from evil or any influences of evil that may harm or cause us pain.  We will never cease to worship your Holy Name and we always give back to you all the glory, honour, praise and thanksgiving.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
