THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN - Bro Joe Sabareza

SCRIPTURE READING:
            LUKE 10:25-37
                         
 Introduction:
                        In every chapter the first thing that I do is to look for JESUS  in every passage. Once I found HIM, two words would immediately come to my heart and those words may seem to be less of importance to you but to me ,it's a big deal. The first word is unlearn and the other is learn.
                       In the Scripture reading of LUKE 10:25-37 , there are words that rhema in my heart and these words which the LORD gave me are the ff:
                                          1) TEST
                                          2) JUSTIFY/JUSTIFICATION
                                           3) CAUTION
                                           4) EXAMPLE
                                           5) COMPASSION
                                           6) COMMISSION
                                           7) TRANSMISSION
LET'S begin with the word TEST, let's find out the meaning so that we can easily move on smoothly: I have found definitions that will ignite us;
The ff: are
                     1)a procedure intended to establish the quality , performance, or reliability of something.
                     2) a short examination of skill and knowledge.
                     3) a difficult situation that reveals the strength or quality of someone or something.
There are synonymous words that will expound the word TEST they are as follows: analysis, appraisal, assay, assessment, audition, check-over, check-up, evaluation, examination, inspection, interrogation, investigation, probation, quiz, screen-test, trial, try-out.
1) put someone through their paces, put to the test,question, quiz, screen, try- out.
                      In ( v. 25) among the audience while JESUS was preaching and teaching an expert in the law stood up and test JESUS. Before we proceed what do we know about the word "expert in the law" - a person who has great knowledge or skill in a particular area. Great skill or knowledge in a particular field. I remember the Apostle Paul when he wrote his letter to the Phil. 3:5-6, in regard to the law , a Pharisee; as for zeal , persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.(NIV). This lawyer as definition is not knowledgeable but skilled and yet he's trying to test  and outsmart  and prove to himself he is really has expertise againstJESUS WITH REGARDS to law. This is what I found out , for thousand of years the Jewish people had only the law telling them what to do and what not to do. But when JESUS CHRIST came who showed them how to live the life GOD  what HE want them to be.
JESUS didn't just say, "BE HUMBLE", HE HUMBLED HIMSELF",(PHIL. 2:8). HE didn't just say," FORGIVE OTHERS," ; " HE FORGAVE US "( COL. 3:13), HE didn't just say, " LOVE GOD AND YOUR NEIGHBOURS;" HE demonstrated love by HIS ACTIONS(JOHN15:12).
                                JESUS CHRIST DIDN'T JUST TELL THEM  WHAT TO DO , HE SHOWED THEM HOW TO DO IT AND MADE HIMSELF A PERFECT EXAMPLE,SO THAT WE CAN ALSO DO  SUBMIT, COMMIT AND TRANSMIT OUR COMPASSION( LOVE IN ACTIONS ) TO OTHERS.
                                IN CONCLUSION, JESUS said in JOHN 13:15 , I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE, THAT YOU SHOULD DO AS I HAVE DONE TO YOU,( LUKE 10:28) ," DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE". In LUKE 10:37, " GO AND DO LIKEWISE."
